This morning, Donald Trump took a stand in opposing North Carolina’s controversial law, known as HB2. In an interview, Trump said:
“There have been very few complaints the way it is. People go, they use the bathroom that they feel is appropriate…And the problem with what happened in North Carolina is the strife and the economic punishment they’re taking.”
Even Donald Trump understands that HB2 is discriminatory and is already hurting North Carolina’s economy but Senator Richard Burr stands firm in his support for the law.
On the day yet another group has pulled their event in North Carolina because of the law, why won’t Senator Burr listen to North Carolina business leaders who are steadfastly opposing HB2? Why does he continue his shameful support for a law that is damaging the North Carolina economy?
“You know you are really on the wrong side of an issue when even Donald Trump is on the right side,” said Lauren Passalacqua, DSCC National Press Secretary. “It is shameful that Senator Burr continues to support HB2 even as it costs his state thousands of jobs and millions of dollars.”
