GOP Senators Must Demand Investigations of Loeffler & Perdue For Selling Millions in Stock After Coronavirus Briefing

McConnell, Republicans Must Condemn GOP Colleagues & Call for Senate Ethics, SEC, DOJ to Investigate Clear Allegations of Wrongdoing

New reports detail how political mega-donor and temporary Senator Kelly Loeffler and ultra-wealthy Senator David Perdue dumped millions in stocks after a closed-door Senate briefing while publicly downplaying the risks of coronavirus.

Every Republican must condemn these GOP senators’ self-serving and unethical actions — and answer whether they will call for full investigations from the U.S. Senate Ethics Committee, the Securities and Exchange Commission, and the Justice Department.

“These Republicans have violated their public trust, putting their constituents at greater health and economic risk while looking out first and foremost for their own personal financial interest,” said DSCC spokesperson Stewart Boss. “Every Republican in the Senate should not only condemn the self-serving actions of Senators Loeffler, and Perdue — they should demand immediate investigations from the Senate Ethics Committee and law enforcement authorities.”
