The Court’s ruling overturning Roe v. Wade is the culmination of Republicans’ efforts to strip away women’s rights to make their own decisions about their health care.

The stakes of the election have never been higher – since the Supreme Court’s ruling was leaked and in the wake of last week’s decision, Republican Senate candidates have made it clear they stand in lockstep with their party’s agenda to make abortion illegal everywhere, without exceptions for rape, incest and the life of the mother, and impose new, cruel punishments on women and families.

Here are the facts:

ARIZONA:

• Blake Masters has said “Repeal Roe v. Wade. It was wrong the day it was decided” and called the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade a “huge victory.”   [Newsmax, 5/03/22; @bgmasters, 6/24/22]
• Mark Brnovich signed onto a brief that called for the Supreme Court to overturn Roe v. Wade. [Phoenix New Times, 7/29/21]
• Jim Lamon said he was “certainly glad that Roe v. Wade was repealed” and that he was “thankful” that the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade. [Newsmax, 5/04/22; @jim_lamon, 6/24/22]
  

COLORADO:

• Ron Hanks “says all abortions should be banned, regardless of whether the pregnancy is a result of rape or incest or the mother’s life is at risk.” He has stated “there should not be any exceptions.”  [Colorado Sun, 6/1/22] 
• Joe O’Dea opposes a Colorado law protecting the right to an abortion. [Colorado Times Recorder, 4/22/22]

FLORIDA:

GEORGIA:

NORTH CAROLINA:

• Chuck Morse “helped write and pass a state budget that included a ban on abortions after 24 weeks — with no exceptions for rape, incest or for fetal viability.”  [Axios, 5/8/22]

OHIO:
