IN THE BATTLEGROUNDS: Democrats Call Out Senate Republicans’ Pledge to Overturn the Affordable Care Act

Across the Senate battlegrounds, Democrats are holding Republican candidates accountable for their party’s pledge to overturn the Affordable Care Act if they win the Senate majority – spiking costs and jeopardizing coverage for Americans with pre-existing conditions.

See for yourself:

From the Arizona Democratic Party: “Each week, Arizonans learn more about Mark Brnovich, Jim Lamon, and Blake Masters’ agenda, and each week it becomes even more clear that these out-of-touch, carpetbagging candidates are a poor fit to represent Arizonans in the U.S. Senate. While they run to hike taxes, end Social Security and Medicare, and rip away coverage of pre-existing conditions from millions of Arizonans, Senator Kelly is focused on lowering costs, cutting taxes, and creating good-paying jobs — and that’s exactly what Arizonans want in a Senator.”

From the Colorado Democratic Party: “Republicans have made it clear – if they have the chance, they will take away your health care, raise taxes, increase the deficit to fund tax cuts for the rich, coddle dictators, and continue to divide America. The GOP’s extreme agenda would be disastrous for Coloradans and our economy which is why we need to do everything we can to keep Democrats in charge.”

From the Florida Democratic Party: “Marco Rubio has spent over a decade working to repeal the Affordable Care Act and strip away protections for pre-existing conditions from Americans who need it. Now his colleague is confirming that Senate Republicans will not only try to raise taxes on working families and seniors, they’ll send health care costs skyrocketing as soon as they get the chance. Floridians won’t stand for more attacks on their health care, or a self-serving politician like Marco Rubio who’s too weak to disavow this latest threat to the ACA.”

From the Georgia Democratic Party: “While Senator Reverend Warnock is fighting to lower the cost of health care and insulin and cut taxes for Georgians, Herschel Walker, Gary Black, and every other candidate in this GOP field would be a rubber stamp for their party’s agenda: raising taxes on seniors and working families, jeopardizing Medicare and Social Security, and spiking health care costs while gutting coverage for 1.8 million Georgians with pre-existing conditions.”

From Nevada Democratic Victory: “Nevadans are now learning exactly what Republicans like Adam Laxalt would do with a Senate majority, working once again to spike the cost of health care and gut protections for Nevadans with pre-existing conditions.”

From the New Hampshire Democratic Party: “If Chuck Morse, Kevin Smith, or Don Bolduc were in the Senate with Mitch McConnell, there’s no doubt they would eagerly help Senate Republicans raise taxes on seniors, end Medicare and Social Security, and now, try to increase the cost of health care while ripping away coverage protections from Granite Staters with pre-existing conditions. That’s the Republican agenda, and it would cost the people of New Hampshire dearly. While Senator Hassan is working to lower costs and ensure New Hampshire families have access to affordable health care, Chuck Morse, Kevin Smith, and Don Bolduc are running to be rubber stamps for Republicans’ unpopular agenda that comes at Granite Staters’ expense.”

From the North Carolina Democratic Party: “Ted Budd, Pat McCrory, and Mark Walker will all be another rubber stamp on their party’s agenda: raising taxes on working families and seniors and now trying to take away coverage protections for North Carolinians with pre-existing conditions and raising health care costs. While Democrats work to lower costs and cut taxes for North Carolina families, Republicans’ priority is serving the interests of big corporations and their wealthy donors.”

From the Ohio Democratic Party:“While working families are already feeling the squeeze from rising costs, Republicans are freely admitting they plan to raise healthcare costs and rip coverage away from nearly 1 million Ohioans. The out-of-touch millionaires running for U.S. Senate owe Ohioans an answer for why they want to end protections for Ohioans with pre-existing conditions, close rural hospitals, and raise prescription drug costs in order to cut taxes for their wealthy and well-connected friends.”

From the Pennsylvania Democratic Party:“Republicans continue to accidentally tell the truth about how dangerous it would be for them to retake the Senate majority. In addition to raising taxes on seniors and working families, they’ve made it clear they intend to repeal the Affordable Care Act. This is what we can expect if David McCormick, Carla Sands, Mehmet Oz or any of the other GOP candidates become our next Senator. A GOP Senate majority will purposefully work towards spiking health care costs while ripping coverage protections away from Americans with pre-existing conditions. The importance of electing a Democrat in Pennsylvania, which is likely to decide the Senate majority, could not be clearer.”

From the Wisconsin Democratic Party: “Ron Johnson broke his two term pledge to double down on his self-serving agenda of raising health care costs and ripping away protections for Wisconsinites with pre-existing conditions,”
