IN THE BATTLEGROUNDS: Democrats Tout Bipartisan Infrastructure Bill and Highlight GOP Opposition

Following passage of the bipartisan infrastructure plan, Democrats in key Senate battlegrounds are highlighting how Democrats are growing millions of good-paying American jobs and rebuilding our nation’s road, bridges, water pipes, and high-speed internet — while slamming Republican Senate candidates for opposing the bipartisan bill:

• In Arizona, the ADP Chair Raquel Terán celebrated the House passage of the historic infrastructure package, touted the benefits to Arizona’s infrastructure and families — while calling out GOP Senate candidates for opposing the bipartisan legislation:

“While Democrats have once again delivered for Arizona, GOP Reps…. voted against the communities they were elected to represent yet again with the Senate primary candidates trailing right behind them. Voters will hold them accountable for it come 2022.”

In Florida, FDP Chairman Manny Diaz slammed vulnerable incumbent Marco Rubio and NRSC Chair Rick Scott for voting against the bipartisan infrastructure deal that will be “help businesses across Florida compete with rivals overseas” and be critical to “Florida’s future”:

“Unfortunately Senators Marco Rubio and Rick Scott voted against this vital infrastructure deal. Their cowardly refusal to support a plan that will boost the economy, create good-paying jobs, and tackle some of our most pressing crises is downright shameful. At a time when we need strong leadership, Floridians won’t forget that Marco Rubio once again prioritized his own political agenda over what’s best for our state.”

In Georgia, DPG Chair Nikema Williams highlighted that Democrats delivered on our promise to pass a historic infrastructure bill — which will create thousands of good-paying jobs in Georgia —  while every single Georgia Republican opposed the package

“Thanks to the Biden-Harris administration, Senators Ossoff and Reverend Warnock, and Georgia House Democrats — and not a single Georgia Republican — millions of Georgia workers, small businesses and families will see a new generation of economic growth and equity.”

In New Hampshire, NHDP Chair Ray Buckley called out Chris Sununu for repeatedly criticizing the bipartisan infrastructure bill that will create good-paying jobs and modernize the Granite State’s infrastructure:

“This landmark accomplishment will modernize New Hampshire’s roads and bridges, invest in clean energy, clean drinking water, and coastal resiliency, and expand access to high-speed internet. Importantly, this legislation will create good-paying jobs here in New Hampshire and will strengthen our economy. While Democrats are fighting for Granite State families, responding to our needs, and delivering results, Chris Sununu has repeatedly criticized this bipartisan bill.”

In North Carolina, NC Dems called out the entire GOP Senate field for opposing the bipartisan bill and its critical funding to rebuild North Carolina’s infrastructure:

“President Biden and Democrats have delivered an infrastructure plan that will create millions of good-paying jobs, help American businesses grow by investing in our country’s infrastructure, and get folks back to work. Meanwhile, Ted Budd, Pat McCrory, and Mark Walker are focused on obstruction and blocking progress on legislation that will allow our country to compete in a global market with countries like China, repair North Carolina roads and bridges, get high-speed internet to more households, and help grow jobs at home.”

In Ohio, ODP Chair Elizabeth Walters celebrated the passage of the one of the boldest infrastructure plans in our lifetime while denouncing the Ohio GOP Senate candidates for their opposition to the bipartisan package:

“While every leading Ohio Republican running for U.S. Senate opposes this historic plan to create more good-paying jobs right here in Ohio, President Biden, Senator Brown, and Democrats in our congressional delegation worked to deliver one of the boldest infrastructure plans in our lifetime that will invest in our roads, bridges, water pipes, and high-speed internet. By opposing this plan, every leading GOP Senate candidate shows they don’t care about bringing jobs back from overseas, investing in high-speed internet, and helping America compete with countries like China that threaten our economy.

In Pennsylvania, PA Dems called out the entire GOP Senate field for opposing the bipartisan infrastructure bill that will create much-needed jobs and make critical upgrades to Pennsylvania’s highways, bridges, and high-speed internet coverage:

“The Bipartisan Infrastructure Bill is a huge win for Pennsylvanians, who will benefit from the improvements to the commonwealth’s roads, bridges and broadband, as well as the much-needed jobs that will come. In opposing the bill and all its benefits, the PA GOP Republican field continues to demonstrate that they have no real solutions to offer voters while Democrats deliver for Pennsylvania.”

In Wisconsin, DPW Chair Ben Wikler applauded the historic passage of the bipartisan infrastructure bill and criticized vulnerable incumbent Ron Johnson for opposing the bipartisan package and voting against Wisconsin’s interests:

“The passage of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Deal represents the Democratic Party’s continued commitment to and investment in Wisconsin’s future. This is in direct contrast to Ron Johnson, who continues to prioritize partisanship over doing the job he was elected to do. In fact, not only did he vote against this bill, but he admitted he didn’t even read the bill before voting against Wisconsin’s interests.”
