KEY VOTE: Senate Republicans Move Closer to Spiking Middle Class Taxes, Health Care Costs While Corporations Get a Break

In response to the Republican tax plan, which would increase taxes on families earning less than $75,000 a year while providing breaks to the wealthiest Americans, explode the deficit, and gut Medicare by $25 billion, passing a procedural hurdle, Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee Spokesman David Bergstein issued the following statement:

“Republicans are now one step closer to passing their bill that would raise taxes on working Americans, all to benefit their ultra-wealthy donors and multinational corporations. Voters won’t stand for the GOP’s attempts to eschew their interests for the sake of political expediency, and will hold Republicans accountable in 2018.”

Earlier this week, the DSCC released a new ad, “Mailbox,” that features individuals learning how the Republican proposal will increase their taxes in order to benefit the wealthy and well-connected.
