March Jobs Report “Blows Past Expectations” Following American Rescue Plan Passage That Senate Republicans Unanimously Voted Against

Strong Jobs Numbers, Declining Unemployment Rate Demonstrates “Economic Benefit” Of Relief Package Opposed By Every GOP Senator

Senate Republicans voted against a commonsense agenda to put money in people’s pockets, expand vaccine access, and rescue our struggling restaurants and small businesses. Americans are now experiencing the tangible benefits of this relief bill and they won’t forget that amid an unprecedented crisis, Democrats provided the resources to rebuild our economy while Republicans obstructed, delayed, and played political games with relief for hardworking families.”

The March jobs report released this morning from the Department of Labor showed “signs of a broader U.S. economic recovery” as “job growth boomed.” The “economic benefit” of the American Rescue Plan is “evident in the strong jobs numbers” and “rising Covid-19 vaccinations and federal stimulus measures” helped “spur a pickup in consumer spending.”
