Today the National Republican Senatorial Committee pointed out that the American public has “overwhelming support” for women’s reproductive freedom and IVF treatments. 

This is true. The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee believes the following list of issue areas and statements espoused by Republican Senate candidates are also opposed by the overwhelming majority of the American public: 

• Kari Lake’s statement calling abortion an “execution.”

• Rick Scott’s support for a six week abortion ban. 

• Bills backed by Mike Rogers and Peter Meijer that would restrict in vitro fertilization and access to contraception — such as IUDs and emergency contraception, including Plan B.

• Sandy Pensler’s statement calling Roe v. Wade “Tyrannical.”

• Tim Sheehy’s statement calling abortion “murder.” 

• Sam Brown’s support for an abortion ban without exceptions for rape or incest. 

• Bernie Moreno’s statement that “women don’t actually need abortions, just someone to lift heavy things such as strollers for them.”

• Bernie Moreno, Frank LaRose and Matt Dolan’s support for a national abortion ban. 

• David McCormick’s support for abortion bans without exceptions for rape or incest. And calling the overturn of Roe v. Wade  “a great victory.” 

•  Ted Cruz’s legislation banning abortion nationwide. And opposing abortion even in cases of rape or incest.  

• Eric Hovde’s statement opposing abortion “from conception.”
