Congressman Kevin Cramer made headlines this weekend for harmful comments toward victims of sexual assault in an attempt to defend the GOP amid allegations against Judge Kavanaugh. Chuck Todd highlighted his bizarre defense of the Supreme Court nominee “stumble” on Meet the Press. Watch:
TODD: And already some Republican candidates are stumbling…
CRAMER: These are teenagers who evidently were drunk, according to her own — her own statement. Nothing evidently happened in it all, even by her own accusation. Again, it was supposedly an attempt or something that never went anywhere.”
As if Congressman Cramer’s previous remarks toward survivors of sexual assault weren’t harmful enough, yesterday he doubled down on them saying that “current allegations were even more absurd:”
