In response to Senate Democrats today holding committee hearings on Republicans’ plans to cut funding to programs that protect America, environmental protection and conservation, water safety, and veterans’ health services, Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee spokesperson Nora Keefe issued the following statement:
“Today, Senate Democrats are exposing the true impact of Republicans’ reckless plan to default on America’s debts, which would slash hundreds of thousands of jobs and crash our economy. As Democrats are fighting every day to protect the American economy, the contrast is clear with Republicans, who would plunge the country into an economic crisis with increased costs, higher unemployment and painful recession.”
