In response to Senators Cruz and Scott once again voting against even considering a government funding bill to avert Republicans’ government shutdown, Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee spokesperson Tommy Garcia issued the following statement:
“Once again, Senators Cruz and Scott are putting their petty politics over the best interests of their state and refusing to even consider a bill to avert the devastating government shutdown. Cruz and Scott’s shutdown would threaten Social Security and raise costs for working Americans – and in 2024 voters in their states will hold Cruz and Scott accountable by voting them out of office.”
The DSCC previously launched an advertising campaign highlighting how Cruz and Scott’s government shutdown would threaten Social Security and raise costs.
