In response to Senators Cruz and Scott once again voting against even considering a government funding bill to avert Republicans’ government shutdown, Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee spokesperson Tommy Garcia issued the following statement:
“Once again, Senators Cruz and Scott are putting their petty politics over the best interests of their states by pushing our government towards a devastating shutdown that would threaten veterans’ services and raise costs for working Americans. In 2024, Texas and Florida voters will hold Cruz and Scott accountable by voting them out of office.”
The DSCC previously launched an advertising campaign highlighting how Cruz and Scott’s government shutdown would threaten Social Security and raise costs.
