VOTE ALERT: Scott Opposes Bipartisan Border Security Bill

Border Patrol Union President: Republicans are against the border bill for “political purposes”

In response to Senator Scott voting against even considering the bipartisan border security bill, Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC) spokesperson Maeve Coyle released the following statement:

“Scott’s vote against securing our border, cracking down on fentanyl trafficking and keeping Americans safe represents the worst kind of Washington politics. Republicans, border patrol agents and Americans of every political persuasion are backing this bill, but Scott voted against even considering it to satisfy his petty, self-serving politics. Now, Florida voters will hold Scott accountable by firing him in 2024.”

JUST THE FACTS: BORDER BILL INCLUDES “TOUGHER STANDARDS,” “FASTER ENFORCEMENT,” CRACKS DOWN ON FENTANYL,  BACKED BY BORDER PATROL AGENTS.

  • Associated Press: Bill includes “Tougher Standards And Faster Enforcement.“The package would also send $20 billion to immigration enforcement, providing money to hire thousands more officers to evaluate asylum claims, add hundreds of more Border Patrol agents and help stop the flow of fentanyl. The bill would overhaul the asylum system with tougher standards and faster enforcement.”
