Rubio Fails to Explain Votes Against Commonsense Measures to Prevent Suspected Terrorists from Buying Guns
The Question Marco Can’t Answer: “Should [Orlando families] not get that satisfaction of being able to move a bill forward?”
In a brutal exchange on CBS-Miami’s Facing South Florida, Marco Rubio was confronted with the questions he’ll struggle to answer throughout his self-serving Senate campaign: Why did he oppose a bipartisan measure to keep guns out of suspected terrorists’ hands – especially in the wake of Orlando?
Rubio’s response was nothing but Washington-speak and he failed to address the core question posed by reporter Jim DeFede: “Aren’t you frustrating the process?” and “Should [Orlando families] not get that satisfaction of being able to move a bill forward?
“Marco Rubio used what happened in Orlando as an excuse to run for office, but just like he’s done throughout his career, he put his personal political ambition ahead of the people he’s supposed to represent,” said Lauren Passalacqua, DSCC National Press Secretary. “Floridians can’t count on Senator Rubio to show up, but they can bet when he does he’ll ‘frustrate the process’ – even in the wake of a tragedy that directly affected his own constituents.”
