Weekly West Virginia “Battle Royale” Senate Primary Update

An ongoing scandal over schedules, attacks over Trump loyalties, name-calling, and unpaid debts: here’s what you might have missed this week in West Virginia’s “messy,” “costly,” and “bruising intraparty fight”:

• This week, the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC) filed a new motion requesting the Circuit Court of Kanawha County immediately order Jim Justice’s office to release records pertaining to the Governor’s official schedule or official calendar from January 2017 to present and opposing his motion to dismiss the case. The lawsuit follows previous reporting detailing Justice’s ongoing scandal over his work schedule. 

• Mooney & Justice are fighting over who is more loyal to Trump. After Jim Justice endorsed Trump’s 2024 campaign, Alex Mooney was quick to attack Justice as “political opportunist” and an “ANTI-TRUMP candidate,” adding that Mooney endorsed Trump 8 months ago.
  

• Alex Mooney yet again highlighted recent reporting detailing Justice’s “long-standing pattern of behavior” of leaving “bills left unpaid.”
