On Saturday, Donald Trump will make his first campaign stop in Pennsylvania since becoming the presumptive GOP Presidential nominee. The question on everyone’s minds is: Will Senator Pat Toomey be there to roll out the welcome mat?
Toomey, who just today said he hasn’t “ruled out” campaigning with Trump, already stands with his party’s nominee on a number of the issues – they both believe there should be punishments for doctors who perform abortions, they both oppose efforts to ensure equal pay for equal work, and they both support a tax plan that would benefit the wealthy. Will this be the weekend that Toomey also stands with Trump in Pennsylvania?
“Pat Toomey and Donald Trump already share many of the same damaging policy positions, and Pennsylvania voters are wondering if they’ll also share a stage this weekend,” said Lauren Passalacqua, DSCC National Press Secretary. “This certainly won’t be Trump’s last Pennsylvania campaign stop of the cycle, so we hope Pat Toomey keeps his welcome mat ready.”
