Digital Director

The DSCC is seeking a Digital Director who will oversee the digital program as part of the integrated marketing team. This position will work closely with the Director of Marketing and the Executive Director.

Responsibilities

• Drive strategy for digital content
• Build email schedule with a path toward meeting monthly projections
• Edit email drafts
• Work closely with Deputy Digital Director to implement email schedule
• Oversee email production, sending, quality control,
• Work with data department to improve performance across segments
• Troubleshoot issues in mass mailer platform and website
• Build websites as needed for DSCC efforts
• Manage other members of the digital team
• Oversee shifts in technical systems in the program
• Handle internal email approval process
• Manage billing processes
• Other duties as required

Required
• Commitment to the election of Democrats to the U.S. Senate
• 5+ years experience in digital
• Strong copywriting, coding, and time management skills
• Experience working with digital ads program
• Previous experience managing multiple direct-reports
• Familiarity with web-based CMS and CRM platforms (Blue State Digital, NGPVAN, Salsa, ActionKit, etc.)
• Strong background in data testing and analysis
• Ability to work in a fluid, fast-paced environment. Candidates should be self-starters with the ability to take on projects and run with them.
• Ability to work effectively in a team-based, collaborative environment. Candidates must be able to bring ideas to the table and take direction well.
• Candidates must have an excellent eye for detail and proofreading
• Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and other coding languages

Manager, Direct Mail and Telemarketing
The manager oversees the direct mail and telemarketing efforts to help make sure the DSCC meets its grassroots fundraising goals. The manager works closely with the direct mail firm and our telemarketing partners. In this capacity they will work to steward and grow existing donor relationships with an eye on increased retention and renewal, while working to aggressively grow our donor base. This position reports to the Director of Marketing.
Responsibilities
– Manage day-to-day activities of direct mail and telemarketing programs, including copy review, editing, and progress towards goal
– Strategize and implement testing strategies
– Manage budget and our relationship with partner vendors
– Oversee DSCC premiums and merchandise program
– Analyze program performance, including overall trends and campaign-by-campaign performance
– Manage contract review and approval process
– Track expenses, ensure quality of list pulls and monitor data integrity
– Manage program-related administrative tasks
– Perform other duties as assigned
Required
– Commitment to the election of Democrats to the U.S. Senate
– 3-4 years of direct mail and telemarketing experience
– Extensive knowledge of direct mail and telemarketing best practices
– Analytical, self-starter
– Ability to multi-task and stick to deadlines in a fast-paced environment
– Mild travel to telemarketing call centers
– A collaborative, enthusiastic attitude and proven work ethic

Deputy Digital Director

The DSCC is seeking a Deputy Digital Director who will be responsible for managing the day to day operations of the email program helping to develop a wide variety of content for the committee, including fundraising solicitations, advocacy emails, and website copy. The Deputy Digital Director is expected to be a member of the digital management team, and to participate in the collaborative development of the committee’s digital strategy.

Responsibilities
• Support the Digital Director and help drive strategy for digital content
• Help maintain email schedules and website content
• Manage other members of the writing team
• Write and develop a wide variety of content for the committee, including fundraising solicitations, advocacy emails, petitions, and website copy.
• Work on short deadlines as part of a collaborative team to develop and implement digital strategy
• Manage the day to day operation of the email program, including production, sending, quality control, and assessing results
• Coordinate with email signers and manage approval process
• Oversee day-to-day activities of the email acquisition and digital ads program
• Maximizing the effectiveness of the DSCC’s digital fundraising, acquisition, and outreach programs
• Other duties as required

Senior Digital Writer

The DSCC is seeking a Senior Digital Writer in its Washington, D.C. office. The Senior Digital Writer will help develop a wide variety of digital content for the committee, including fundraising solicitations, advocacy emails, and website copy. The position will report to the Deputy Digital Director.

Responsibilities

• Writing a wide variety of content for the committee, including fundraising solicitations, advocacy emails, petitions, and website copy
• Working on short deadlines and as part of a collaborative team to develop and implement digital strategy
• Actively participating in strategy meetings and helping track A/B testing
• Managing and producing social media content
• Assisting with internal reporting
• Contributing to strategy meetings
• Helping with email production and sending emails as needed.
• Other duties as required

• 2 years of email copywriting experience
• Strong writing and storytelling skills (not limited to email)
• A positive attitude and willingness to change course and be flexible as needed

Digital Coordinators (multiple openings)

The DSCC is seeking creative, talented, and self-motivated individuals to fill the role of Digital Coordinator in its Washington, D.C. office. This individual will help the Digital program maximize its capacity for fundraising and expand its outreach to the committee’s base of Democratic supporters.

Responsibilities
• Producing and sending email blasts; supporting the Digital program’s quality control by ensuring messages meet standards of grammar, accuracy, functioning links, etc.
• Assisting with maintenance of existing website and online content; creation of new content areas and interactive elements, including signup forms, donation pages, and other specialized content
• Helping to develop social media content and posting it on the committee’s social media platforms
• Working as part of a collaborative team to develop and implement digital strategy
• Staying abreast of current technology and digital strategy and seeking new ways to utilize new technology and strategies
• Maximizing the effectiveness of the DSCC’s digital fundraising and acquisition programs
• Participating in strategy meetings
• Assisting writing team with copywriting, as needed
• Other duties as required

Membership Coordinator

The DSCC is seeking a creative, talented, and self-motivated individual interested in learning more about digital marketing and communications to fill the role of Membership Coordinator. This individual will help the marketing team maximize its capacity for fundraising by managing grassroots donor relations by supporting the Direct Marketing and Digital programs’ general operations.

Responsibilities
Donor Relations
• Being the primary point of contact for grassroots donor relations — Digital and Direct Marketing — at the committee
• Answering phone calls and emails that require a live response
• Tracking and reporting on donor feedback and comments

Digital

Senior Graphic Designer and Brand Manager

This positions works primarily in the marketing department but also assists communications and occasionally finance with graphic design, video production, and brand management.

Responsibilities

  • Design graphics for email, social media, and other departments as needed
  • Create and edit videos for rapid response
  • Create infographics
  • Design merchandise and premiums for digital program
  • Oversee graphic design across the department and train digital coordinators
  • Participate in strategy meetings
  • Work with the communications department and finance departments as needed

Required

  • Strong command of Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, or similar software
  • Experience contributing emails to a fundraising program
  • Examples of graphics and videos previously produced by applicant
  • Commitment to the election of Democrats to the U.S. Senate
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-based, collaborative environment. Candidates must be able to bring ideas to the table and take direction well.
