DSCC Chair Van Hollen: 100 Days In, Republicans Sounding the Alarm While Democrats Energized

On the 100-day anniversary of President Trump’s administration DSCC Chairman Senator Chris Van Hollen issued the following statement:

“At the 100-day mark, the Republicans’ biggest success has been energizing Democrats, disappointing Independents, and demoralizing Republicans. Donald Trump and the GOP have shown that they are wholly unable to deliver results, failing to fulfill their promises on everything from health care to tax reform. The American people got to see what the Republicans really stand for: a healthcare plan that makes older Americans pay five times more for care and strips away coverage for pre-existing conditions all to give big insurance companies another handout; jeopardizing women’s healthcare; and selling out Americans’ internet privacy. In 2018, every Republican Senate candidate will be held accountable for these actions, and for pushing the agenda of the rich and the powerful at the expense of hardworking Americans.”

This week, DSCC Political Director Dan McNally released a Medium Post, “What the First 100 Days Means for 2018,” highlighting the Senate campaign implications of the Republicans’ first 100 days.
