In response to Scott’s event today with Senator Rubio — who, unlike Scott, has unequivocally denounced the neo-Nazi and white supremacist rally in Charlottesville — Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee Spokesman David Bergstein released the following statement:
“Scott’s participation in this event is a glaring reminder that his refusal to condemn white supremacists and Neo-Nazis in Charlottesville is out of step with Republicans in Florida and across the country. Republicans like Senator Rubio spoke out forcefully against the kind of reprehensible rhetoric President Trump utilized — while Scott stood in lockstep with him for the sake of his own self-serving politics.”
