A new report from the Wall Street Journal reveals that Republicans are making a “new push” to roll back health care protections and make care more expensive. Their latest plan would “reverse” the guarantees “that seek to provide basic minimum benefits and consumer protections” – and comes on the heels of the GOP’s lawsuit attempting to make protections for pre-existing conditions coverage unconstitutional and jeopardizing employer-provided health care.
In response, Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee spokesman David Bergstein released the following statement:
“Voters already know what the GOP health care agenda means for them: higher premiums, an age tax, and slashed coverage for pre-existing conditions. Their never-ending lawsuits, bills, and proposals just reinforce that every Republican Senate candidate wants to make health care more expensive and less accessible for hardworking Americans, and voters will hold them accountable in November.”
