Rick Scott is Lying about His Failure to Create Good Paying Jobs

In response to Rick Scott’s most recent lie about his failure to keep his promise to create jobs, Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee Spokesman David Bergstein released the following statement:

“Rick Scott’s self-serving agenda has driven Florida to the bottom of the nation in household income and wages and he’s failed to create the good paying jobs he promised, so Scott’s doing what he always does: lying and looking out for his own political interests. We agree with Florida Republicans like Jack Latvala and Adam Putnam: Scott’s economic record is a failure for hardworking Floridians.”

Pensacola News Journal: Editorial: Gov. Scott’s job promises missed most Floridians. “Despite almost 8 years of the governor’s persistent public rhetoric about job-creation, a report from the Florida Chamber found that 36 of 67 counties have actually lost jobs since 2007, before the Great Recession. And according to the data, many of Florida’s rural counties are worse off today than when Scott first won election in 2010..”

Orlando Sentinel, Maxwell: Rick Scott, staff are delusional about Florida’s low-paying jobs. “Rick Scott wants you to think he’s created a stellar economy. And employers who pay poverty-level wages don’t want to talk about that. But I’m not trying to spin. I just want to give you the honest numbers about wages. And the numbers show that Orlando wages stink.”

Tampa Bay Times: Putnam, Latvala sound similar theme — aimed at Scott’s record. ““In recent trips to small-town Florida, Republican candidate for governor Adam Putnam and a likely rival, GOP Sen. Jack Latvala of Clearwater, sounded a similar theme: that amid all the boosterism about new jobs, much of the state has been forgotten. The message seemed aimed squarely at Gov. Rick Scott.”
