DSCC Releases New TV Ad in Iowa: “Repeatedly”

The DSCC released a new TV ad in Iowa’s Senate race, “Repeatedly,” highlighting how Senator Joni Ernst has turned her back on Iowa seniors.

Despite her recent claim that she “never once voted to cut benefits for seniors,” Senator Ernst has a long history of voting to gut Social Security and Medicare. She voted to cut Medicare by more than $400 billion and supported proposals that would “essentially end Medicare,” and she’s pushed plans that would increase health care costs for Iowa seniors by $6,000 more per year and raid Social Security benefits.

The ad is the eighth to run in Iowa from the DSCC IE and is part of the committee’s previously announced offensive investments in key battleground states.

Repeatedly

Transcript:

“Joni Ernst. Caught lying again. “I never once voted to cut benefits for seniors on Social Security and Medicare.” The truth? Ernst voted repeatedly to cut Medicare by over 400 billion dollars. And she supported plans that would cost seniors six thousand dollars more each year for health care and cut our Social Security benefits. “I never once voted…” Joni Ernst is lying to protect herself instead of voting to protect Iowa seniors.”
