In response to Minority Leader McConnell’s statement that “one hundred percent of my focus is on stopping this new administration” — including opposing overwhelmingly popular programs like the American Rescue Plan — Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee spokesman David Bergstein released the following statement:
“Minority Leader McConnell accidentally told the truth: Senate Republicans are spending 100 percent of their time trying to block the $1,400 checks, vaccine shots and jobs Democrats have delivered — which are all helping more Americans recover faster from the coronavirus pandemic. We couldn’t think of a more toxic agenda for Republican Senate candidates, and voters will hold them accountable in 2022.”
