In a new digital video, Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee Chair and Nevada Senator Catherine Cortez Masto shared a message with voters and volunteers eager to get involved in Senate races with just over 100 days until the November elections.
In the video, Senator Cortez Masto celebrates the enthusiasm to make a difference in Washington and shares resources for those who want to help elect new leadership, including the one-stop shop for supporting and engaging with Democratic campaigns across the Senate battlefield, FlipTheSenate.com.
“This November, it’s clear: we have to flip the Senate and ditch Mitch, and grassroots supporters have the power to help us make that happen,” said Senator Cortez Masto. “We want to make it as easy as possible to join us in this fight in whatever way you can because so much is at stake in this election, from protecting people with pre-existing conditions to reforming our criminal justice system. It is time to pick a Senate race and get involved.”
Nonpartisan election analysts agree that Democrats have expanded opportunities in competitive races across the country. This week, Cook Political Report shifted five Senate seats in Democrats’ favor, including two races Republicans did not believe would be competitive at the start of this cycle to Toss-Up: Georgia (Perdue) and Iowa (Ernst). Their analysis followed Inside Elections own ratings update, moving eight Senate races in Democrats’ direction. Earlier this month, fundraising records showed Democratic candidates outraised Republicans in 13 GOP-held Senate seats.
