In response to Senator Cruz once again voting against even considering a government funding bill to avert Republicans’ government shutdown, Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee spokesperson Amanda Sherman Baity issued the following statement:
“Once again, Senator Cruz is putting his petty politics over the best interests of Texans and refusing to even consider a bill to avert the devastating government shutdown. Cruz’s shutdown would threaten Social Security and raise costs for working Americans – and in 2024 Texas voters will hold Cruz accountable by voting him out of office.”
The DSCC previously launched an advertising campaign highlighting how Cruz’s government shutdown would threaten Social Security and raise costs.
