In response to Senator Scott voting against the bipartisan plan to fund the government, Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee spokesperson Maeve Coyle issued the following statement:
“Republicans and Democrats came together to keep the government open, but Rick Scott voted to shut down the government for the sake of his own petty, self-serving politics. If Scott had his way, his shutdown would spike costs, threaten Social Security and lead to numerous other disruptions to services Floridians rely on. In 2024, his vote to shut down the government and refusal to do his job will give Florida voters another reason to fire Scott.”
