The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee is launching new digital ads ahead of the two-year anniversary of Republicans’ “lopsided giveaway” to corporations and the wealthiest Americans.
The new ads, which are running in Arizona, Colorado, Iowa, and Maine, call out the vulnerable GOP Senators who helped jam this handout through Congress, and reveal some of the worst lowlights of the law — including how it allows corporations and billionaires to pay a lower tax rate than working families, drove up taxes for Gold Star families, sent the deficit surging past $1 trillion, and laid the foundation for a lawsuit that could send health care costs soaring and end coverage protections for millions of Americans with pre-existing conditions.
“Two years after Republicans jammed their tax scam through Congress, massive corporations and wealthy GOP donors are reaping the benefits,” said DSCC spokesperson Izzi Levy. “Meanwhile, it’s clearer than ever that Senate Republicans’ reckless handout has left workers behind, penalized military families, threatened Americans’ retirement security, and could still end health care protections for millions. Every Senate Republican voted for this toxic tax giveaway, and we’ll continue to hold them accountable for their harmful agenda.”
The DSCC has held Senate Republicans accountable for their reckless tax handout all week, highlighting some of the most damaging aspects of this deeply unpopular law — including its unprecedented windfall for corporations and the wealthiest Americans and subsequent surge in corporate stock buybacks, as well as its cruel tax hike for Gold Star families.
