DSCC Statement on CBO Report

In response to the Congressional Budget Office score of the Republican Healthcare Plan, Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee Spokesman David Bergstein issued the following statement.  

“Another analysis confirms what Americans already know: Republicans are forcing them to pay more for less care and gutting coverage for preexisting conditions – while giving big insurance companies and the wealthy a tax break. Voters will know exactly who to blame for their premium increases, and just as they’ve showed up at town halls, they will show up to the polls to hold every GOP Senate candidate accountable.” 

Following passage of the GOP Healthcare Plan the DSCC launched 6-second, non-skippable YouTube ads in 9 battleground states — becoming the first national campaign committee to utilize YouTube’s innovative bumper ad format during the 2018 campaign cycle. In April, the DSCC also re-launched its 30-second healthcare spot, “The Price” through digital channels,  expanded its healthcare website and released targeted Google search advertisements highlighting potential GOP Senate candidates support for Plan. The DSCC first released its 30-second spot — described as “gut punch of an ad” by MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow — in March alongside the healthcare website and a memo detailing the campaign implications of the GOP’s proposal.
